About Us

At Bison, we care deeply about the quality of living for Indigenous and northern communities. Working with First Nations, we provide a fresh modular housing solution with an advanced design and building materials. Bison products offer opportunities for local tradespeople to expand their skills while building and supporting community infrastructure in northern communities.

Operating out of Lockport, Manitoba near East Selkirk, Bison uses Cobra Enterprises’ existing assets and operations on all projects. Together we invest in new equipment, training, and infrastructure to improve the standard of living in Indigenous and northern communities with sustainable housing that does not rot, mould, or deteriorate.

History

When Cobra Enterprises president Tyler Prevost was building industrial shipping container projects, he realized they could also work as sustainable homes for northern Canadian communities.

A consultant connected Tyler with Norway House Cree Nation Chief Larson Anderson, who was already searching for ways to improve his community's housing. Chief Larson Anderson was aware of sea can container homes and the benefits they could provide. Both Chief Larson Anderson and Tyler realized their shared interest and dream to provide sustainable housing to all Indigenous and northern communities.

In 2020, both parties are working together to improve housing and the quality of life in these communities, highlighted by a 28-home community housing project and a 13-container gym and daycare in Norway House, Manitoba.

In 2021, Bison launched a new steel home product line using self-framing steel insulated panels. This expanded and improved Bison’s modular building product line which as a result led to the company re-branding to Bison Modular Homes.

Today they offer both their container homes and steel homes product lines.
